Use case example

The Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) uses MERMAID to merge regional monitoring data into global reports and track the health of coral reefs worldwide. The platform enables the GCRMN to aggregate large amounts of national data for regional and global analysis of trends and threats. Using MERMAID helps the GCRMN to collate and visualise the data sources and efficiently standardise datasets. In-built quality controls also mean that the data stored in MERMAID is accurate and consistent, making it easier to use. The tool helps the GCRMN to provide important information to scientists and policymakers and support informed decision making.
