In Papua New Guinea (PNG), the fishing industry is crucial to the economy and ensuring food security. Global Fishing Watch was used identify a vessel engaging in illegal fishing activity in PNG and give authorities the intelligence needed to investigate and charge the vessel. This action contributed to the sustainable management of marine resources in the region.
